TeamCHAMP’s Guide to Valentine’s Day 2017
Perhaps you weren’t thrilled with the weather over the weekend. If it makes you feel better, Ontario’s very own Wiarton Willie didn’t see his shadow on Groundhog Day this year, indicating that we’ll have an early spring. That’s something to look forward to! If Mr. Willie is wrong, however, it might be time to hire a new weather-predicting rodent. Though it may be cold outside, hopefully Valentine’s Day has you feeling warm and fuzzy on the inside. Luckily for you, TeamCHAMP and Jenn Molleson have some ideas to make your Valentine’s Day special and stress-free. Keep reading for some great ideas on how to celebrate the most love-filled day of the year.
Looking to stay in this year but your cooking stills aren’t as … refined as you’d like them to be? Consider ordering a Valentine’s Day takeout dinner from Pan Chancho. Meals range from $40 to $55 per person, and there are vegetarian options available. Make sure to pre-order your meal by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13th. If you miss the deadline, the bakery has a wide variety of desserts and chocolates available. They’re also selling flower bouquets from LSP Flower Design Studio, saving you a trip to the florists.
If your plan was to go out for a romantic dinner, but you procrastinated and forgot to make reservations, never fear. Throughout the winter Black Dog Hospitality has its Snowdelicious promotion, with 3-course dinner menus from $25-$29, and certain lunch items for $12. This special pre-fixe menu is available at Le Chien Noir Bistro and Atomica from Monday to Wednesday, and at Dianne’s from Monday to Thursday. All three restaurants offer amazing local food, so convincing your date to go on a belated Valentine’s Day dinner with you won’t be a problem.
For those struggling to buy something for that special gentleman in your life, nothing says love like a snazzy new pair of socks or underwear from UNDR. They have a huge variety of fashionable undergarments for men, including unique shaving and beard care products.
Finally, for by far the most unique activity you can do with your Valentine, head to Kingston Glass Studio & Gallery on Saturday, February 18th. From 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., you and your Valentine can make your own paperweights! Choose your colours and make your design, then let the professionals pour molten hot glass over your creation to make the paperweight. It’s true – the 18th is a little past Valentine’s Day. But once you have a romantic paperweight on your desk to remind you of the person you love, you’ll never feel lonely again. Tickets are $35, and you must go online to reserve your time slot.
And there you have it. We’ve done all the hard work and research for you, now it’s up to you to do the rest. Happy Valentine’s Day from TeamCHAMP!
